Will not construct any memorial, museum in future: Mayawati

BSP chief Mayawati today said she will not construct any memorial or museum if she comes to power again in Uttar Pradesh, after her previous terms saw a flurry of such projects including a giant park in Noida.

The chief minister said she would concentrate of development and law and order.

Opposition had alleged financial fraud to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore in installation of statues of elephants and also stone memorials by her government in the state.

When asked if it was the reason behind her defeat in UP, Mayawati told reporters that the mission has been completed and she would not construct any memorial or museum in the future.
 

"Once back in power, I will concentrate on development, law and order," Mayawati said.

The BSP chief said she would ensure that all 'goonda' elements are behind the bars, which she said was the right place for them.

Mayawati said though her party lost, but its vote percentage was intact. She also slammed the Centre for misusing of CBI against her.
