BJP's Prime Minister nominee Narendra Modi's acknowledgement of his marital status has given a handle to Congress in this vituperative poll campaign with senior leader Digvijay Singh raising the pitch of propriety.
"I am a widower and if I remarry I won't hide like your 'Dear Feku'," the AICC general secretary said in his latest tweet today, alluding to Modi's marital status.
Modi, who is contesting from Vadodara Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat, in his poll affidavit declared himself as a "married man" for the first time.
Meanwhile, reacting to a video clip purportedly showing him accompanied by a woman while visiting a temple in Maharashtra, Digvijay said, "The clip they are running is of Sant Gyaneshwar temple at Alandi where I go every year when I visit Vithoba temple in Pandharpur".
The video clip was reportedly aired by some local news channels.
