Cabinet Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today said that all cases of corruption and irregularities in the department of mines under the previous UPA government will be thoroughly probed and accountability fixed on the officials responsible.

Tomar, who is in charge of the Mines, Steel and Labour and Employment departments, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set the BJP government's anti-corruption agenda during the campaigning for Lok Sabha polls and would work towards that.

"Whatever irregularity and corruption has happened under the two UPA governments will be thoroughly probed. There is no question of wavering from our commitment," he told reporters while taking charge of the labour ministry.

Tomar said he will soon hold a meeting with senior officials of the labour ministry to chalk out a 100-day roadmap for action. The emphasis will be on skill development, he said.

Tomar is the Lok Sabha member from the Gwalior constituency of Madhya Pradesh.
