Leader of the House Ahmad Hasan said the government would review the matter to see what can be done for farmers as part of the scheme, which included the appointment of Kisan Mitras for spreading information about latest techniques in farming.

BJP member Vinod Pandey had raised the issue during the Zero Hour in the Legislative Council.

The scheme was launched in 1998 by BJP and was expanded in the previous SP regime, only to closed by the BSP government in 2010, he said.

Though 52,000 Kisan Mitras are working, they have not received any honourarium since the financial year 2009-10, he said.
