Social activist Anna Hazare today said he would seek a legal opinion on the Pune-based Charity Commissioner notice for removal of the word 'Bhrashtachar' (corruption) from the name of his NGO, Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Andholan-Maharashtra.

"The government should be tackling corruption. Organisations like ours come up as it has failed to do this," Hazare said, in his village Ralegan Siddhi.

He said he learnt that the order was issued not only to BVJA but also to 16 other NGOs which had "corruption" in their name.

"Our functioning is transparent," Hazare said.

"Why was no objection taken when the organisation was formed?" he asked.

"We have not got the notice. After we receive the notice, we will take legal opinion and go to court if needed," he said.
