Amid murmurs of him joining the BJP, NCP MP Udayanraje Bhosale on Friday cryptically said he will have to take a decision based on what was in the interest of the people of his constituency at a given time.

Talking about his August 20 meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai that had set the tongues wagging about his likely desertion of the NCP, Bhosale claimed it was only related to development works.

Calling Fadnavis his "friend", Bhosale credited him for carrying out development works in Satara.

Talking to reporters here, the MP said he takes decisions based on what he feels is right.

Asked about the reports of BJP leaders being in touch with him, Bhosale said, "I have friends in all the parties. I have personal rapport with them, but that doesn't mean...let's see, I will have to take decision based on what is in the interest of the people at a given time."

"My friend and the states Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis only has done development works in Satara and constituency. Did anyone do it in the past? Earlier, obstacles were created," he added.

Bhosale further said he was committed to the society and that he has played issue-based politics all along.

Asked when he will make a final decision, Bhosale said, "Let's see."

A local heavyweight, Bhosale is one of the NCP's four MPs from Maharashtra.

His cousin and NCP MLA Shivendrasinh Bhosale quit the post as well as the opposition party recently to join the BJP along with other legislators like Sandeep Naik and Vaibhav Pichad.

In the recent past, Congress' Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and Kalidas Kolambkar too switched allegiance to the ruling party.
