Winter starts to set in Raj, Mount Abu coldest at 8 degree C

Mount Abu was the coldest place in Rajasthan that recorded the minimum temperature of 8 degree C, about two degrees less than normal, as winter season started to set in the state, a Met department report said here today.

Whereas in plains, Churu and Gangangar recorded the minimum temperature of 13.6 degree C last night.

Light winter season began in the state as the minimum temperature ranged between 16 and 21 degree C at many places including Ajmer, Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner.

The day temperature also dipped up to 34 degree C at most places in the state.
 

The state is expecting fresh cold winds after snowfall in J&K and higher reaches by early next week, a forecast said.
