Wipro launches Digital Product Compliance lab in Hyderabad

IT major Wipro on Wednesday announced the launch of its global Digital Product Compliance lab in Hyderabad.

The 10,000 sq ft-lab will offer integrated digital product testing services to ensure compliance with international standards for reliability, safety and security for customers across industries like automotive, defense, consumer electronics, aerospace, telecom, medical, energy and manufacturing, Wipro said in a statement.

The new lab, which has a key focus on security, is equipped with environment chambers designed to simulate harsh environments to test products and also features a facility for Wi-Fi devices, it added.

No investment details were disclosed.

* Tech M partners Mahindra Logistics to introduce EVs for employee transportation

* IT firm Tech Mahindra on Wednesday said it has partnered with Mahindra Logistics (MLL) for introducing and operating electric vehicles (EV) for employee transportation.

 

Mahindra Logistics will be deploying Mahindra E-Verito vehicles at Tech Mahindra's Hyderabad campus under its employee transportation fleet from 24 July 2019, a statement said.

As part of its Go-Green initiative, MLL's People Transport Solution business aims to take the tally of electric vehicles in its employee transportation fleet to 300, over the fiscal year 2020.

* Newgen Software Technologies Q1 profit dips 20.5% to Rs 3.1 cr

* Newgen Software Technologies Ltd on Wednesday reported a 20.5 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 3.1 crore for the June 2019 quarter due to significant decrease in foreign exchange gains.

This is against a net profit of Rs 3.9 crore in the year-ago period, Newgen said in a regulatory filing.

"Profit after tax is Rs 3.1 crores compared to Rs 3.9 crores in Q1 2018-19 due to significant decrease in foreign exchange gains, included in Other Income which changed to Rs 3.0 crores in Q1 2019-20 from Rs 7.8 crores in Q1 FY'19," it added.

* Startek names Rajiv Ahuja as global chief operating officer

* Startek Inc, a global provider of customer experience management solutions on Wednesday said it has appointed Rajiv Ahuja as its global chief operating officer (COO).

Effective immediately, Ahuja will assume responsibility for global operations and customer success at Startek as both Pete Martino, COO of the Americas and Philippines, and Sandeep Gulati, COO of APAC and South Africa, will be leaving the company to pursue other interests, a statement said.

Ahuja previously served as the SVP and country manager for India, China, Malaysia and Japan at Convergys.
