During the reported quarter, Wipro's IT services segment added 6,607 people taking the total headcount to 168,396 employees as of September 30, 2015.
Asked about future hiring, Wipro Senior Vice President Human Resources Saurabh Govil said the company has hired large number of freshers in this quarter and that hiring continues to be in line with business requirement.
"We are building in digital where we see a huge demand and growth coming very clearly investing in that. Overseas, we continue to hire... We have already been on campuses so that process is going on. So its business as usual, nothing different what has been in the past...You will see the same, similar rate of hiring," he said.
