Opposition National Conference leader Omar Abdullah on Sunday rued that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not speak about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir in his 'Mann ki Baat' radio address.

"How I wish my Prime Minister had found a few reassuring words for my state which has seen almost 50 deaths & countless injured #MannKiBaat," Omar wrote on Twitter.

Omar also lashed out at Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for not taking responsibility for the situation in the Valley where 49 persons have been killed and over 5,600 injured in clashes between protestors and security forces.

"The trouble I have with her brand of leadership is that it's never her fault, it's always others who are to blame," the former chief minister said.

Mehbooba, in an interview to a private TV news channel, said: "Many forces have come together to vitiate atmosphere, send children to various areas to create trouble."

On the protest against the Chief Minister at an examination centre, Omar asked what Mehbooba was doing there.

"I'm curious as to what the CM was doing at an examination centre?" he asked.
