With new dealerships, Fiat sees 50 per cent jump in sales

Fiat has seen a 50 per cent jump in sales after launching four new cars, starting exclusive dealerships, sprucing up after sales service this year, a top official said today.

"Our current market share is around 0.6 per cent and it is growing by 50 per cent. We have increased our dealerships to 125 and by the end of this year we will take it to 150," Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and Managing Director, FIAT Chrysler Automobiles India, told reporters here.

The company earlier had a marketing and distribution tie up with the Tatas but now they are launching their own point of sales through dealers.
 

"We are also growing our new service outlets. For remote areas we have the mobile van service. We are also improving the availability of our spare parts," Basavanhalli said adding that they are launching new cars this year for the Indian market.

He was here to launch Avventura, a contemporary urban vehicle, in the Kolkata market.

On their Ranjangaon plant in Pune which is a joint venture with Tata, the official said it is yet working at 70 per cent capacity utilisation.
