Woman, 6 others held for robbery, bag lifting

Sharda, whoM police call the 'gang leader', Kanna, Rahul, Sachin, Kamal, Baadal and Ashok Kumar were arrested from the national capital seperately.

Police action came on a complaint filed by one Kunal Bahl who alleged two persons stopped his car when he was driving near Kalkaji Extension by throwing paint on it and when he got down to see what had happened, they robbed him of his bag which contained Rs 4.5 lakh in cash.

Acting on a specific information, police apprehended Kanna and Sachin when they were travelling in a car in Madangir area and recovered Rs one lakh from them.

 

According to inputs given by them, police then arrested Sharda from her residence and Rs 2 lakh, an iPad and hard disc were also recovered from her house.

"Further accused Kamal, Baadal, and Rahul were also arrested and Rs 1.5 lacs were also recovered. At their instance, receiver of laptops Ashok Kumar was also arrested and three laptops were also recovered from his shop at Nehru Place," Ajay Chaudhry, Addl. Commissioner of Police, South- East District, said.

The investigation shows the gang leader is Sharda and they were experts in bag lifting. The gang had been involved in 12 cases.
