In a possible case of suicide, a 42-year-old woman along with her 8-month-old son were found dead with their throats slit at their residence in Mahim, police said today.

In a note recovered from the spot, the woman said that she was taking this drastic step as she was depressed and no one should be held responsible for this, Deputy Commissioner and Mumbai police spokesperson Dhananjay Kulkarni said.

"Bodies of Swara Keskar and her son Harsh were found at their residence in Rajiv Cooperative Housing Society last night", Kulkarni added.

Police said a knife and a sickle has been also recovered from the spot.

Mahesh Patil, Deputy commissioner of Mumbai Police (Zone V) told PTI the bodies have been sent for post-mortem to Bhabha hospital in suburban Bandra.

"We are collecting information from her husband who has said that he was in another flat when this incident took place and alerted the neighbours and police," Patil said.

"Prima facie it looks like a suicide. However, all angles are being probed during investigations," the officer added.
