Woman abducted from train, gangraped in Jharkhand

A 25-year-old married woman was allegedly abducted from a train and gangraped by a group of six miscreants near Madhupur in this district, Railway Police said today.

The woman was abducted from a compartment of the Giridih-Madhupur passenger train at Madhupur railway station by six persons who gangraped her in a nearby area on Thursday night, Superintendent of Police (Railway) Asim Vikrant Minz said.

The woman's father who was accompanying her was asleep when she was abducted. Later, on not finding her in the train, he raised an alarm and informed the railway police, who conducted raid in nearby Dangalpara locality where the woman was found, the SP said.
 

The victim was sent for medical examination, he said, adding that three accused have been arrested, while search was on for the rest.
