Woman activist held, 11 IEDs recovered in Jharkhand

Eleven IEDs were recovered and a woman activist of a militant group was arrested, following an encounter, in two separate incidents in Jharkhand today, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police launched a massive search operation in Daldaliya jungle under Lokayanyanpur police station of Giridih district and recovered the IEDs, SP Surendra Kumar Jha said.

Jha said police suspects that the IEDs were meant for use during the municipal elections scheduled to be held on April 16.

In another incident in Simdega district, the woman activist of a militant group was held following an encounter in Bidhuli jungle under Bano police station of the district, police said.

 

Police have recovered two pistols, 80 live cartridges, six mobile phones from the area, a police official said.
