Woman allegedly gang-raped in Surendranagar district

A 32-year-old woman was allegedly raped by six men in Chuda town of Surendranagar district in Gujarat, police said today.

"A 32-year-old married woman has filed a complaint that she was raped by six persons in Chamardi village in Chuda town," police sub-inspector A H Ghori said.

The incident took place last night when the victim, who works as a casual labourer at a farm in the town, was abducted and raped by the accused.

"She was found later in unconscious state by her husband," Ghori added.

The complaint filed by the woman names Gopal Gordhan, Vasram Jiva, Shamji Jiva, Dhaval Raisingh, Dharmendra Ramji and Ghanshyam Ratna. A case under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code was lodged against them.
 

The woman has been hospitalised. Nobody has been arrested yet.
