A 35-year-old married woman has alleged that her neighbour raped her and tried to electrocute her at her residence in south Delhi's Chhattarpur area, police said today.

According to the woman's complaint, the neighbour came to her house on Friday evening when she was alone at home and forced himself upon her.

She also told the police that the accused put adhesive on her mouth and tried to electrocute her with an immersion rod, but could not do so due to a power cut, a police officer said.

The woman alleged that the accused fled with her gold chain and cash after sexually assaulting her.

A case has been registered at the Mehrauli police station and police has launched a hunt for the accused, the officer said.
