Woman among five Naxals surrender in Chhattisgarh

Five Naxals, four of them carrying cash rewards of up to Rs 3 lakh on their heads, have surrendered before police in Chhattisgarh's Bastar region.

Four of the Maoists, including a woman, surrendered in Kondagaon district, while the fifth one turned himself in before police authorities in Dantewada, police officials from the region told PTI on phone today.

They were identified as Sunita (27), Jagdish Potai (25), Sukhlal Potai (30) and Sona Singh (all Kondagaon) and Kosa Kunjam (21) from Dantewada.

Of these, Sunita, Jagdish and Sukhlal were carrying cash rewards of Rs 3 lakh, Rs 2 lakh and Rs 1 lakh, respectively, on their heads, the officials said.
 

Kunjam from Dantewada carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, they added.
