Sunita, a resident of Budh Vihar in the capital, Praveen Gupta and Sumit Giri were arrested based on a complaint filed by one Laxmi Rathore who claimed that her one-year-old son has been kidnapped by some unknown person.
After investigations, police arrested Sunita and Praveen and recovered the child from her possession. Later, their associate Sumit was nabbed.
During interrogation, it was established that accused Sunita, Gupta and Giri are neighbours and Sunita decided to kidnap the child to sell him to a human trafficking racket.
"She was successful in constituting the racket involving her and the other two accused. On June 16, they succeeded in kidnapping the child and kept him in Sunita's house," B S Jaisawal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer District, said.
