Two persons, including a woman, were caught at a check point set up near Sangriya in Sirsa district when they were allegedly carrying Rs 1.90 lakh unaccounted cash.

They were nabbed yesterday by the Static Surveillance Team constituted by District Election Office, Sirsa for the Lok Sabha elections.

A spokesman of the Election Department said today that two Virpal Kaur and Sukhdev were travelling from Sangriya to Dabwali on bike bearing a Rajasthan registration number and while checking, the team recovered the amount from them.

He said that when they were questioned, both were unable to produce any certified proof for the amount and were not able to give any satisfactory answer.

"The amount has been seized and deposited at Sadar Police Station, Dabwali. Besides, legal action is being taken by the police," he said.

Polling for all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana is due on April 10.
