A woman was arrested by police here for allegedly throwing her newborn baby girl into a pond, police sources said.
The local people of Subhas Nayanpalli complained to the police that body of a newborn baby girl was found in the pond and alleged that the woman had thrown her baby into the pond.
Based on the local people's complaint the Kotwali police station recovered the newborn baby girl's body from the pond and arrested the woman.
Meanwhile, the family members of the woman claimed that the woman had given birth to a stillborn child and rubbished the allegation of the local people that she had thrown her new born baby girl into the pond.
