Police today arrested a woman for allegedly killing her software engineer husband who was found murdered at his residence in the Indirapuram area here on March 9.

According to police, CS Dayakar was struck with a hammer allegedly by his wife Vaishali after a fight broken out between them. The couple has an eight-year-old son.

Police said that Vaishali has confessed to her crime.

According to police, Vaishali had told them that she found her husband dead on March 9 when she returned to their residence in the Rail Vihar area from her parental home.

Dayakar used to work with a Noida-based software company.

Their neighbours have told police that they had on March 7 heard noises emanating from Dayakar's home which suggested a quarrel and assault.

Vaishali had told police that she had a fight with her husband on March 7 after which she had gone to her parental home.

However, police suspected that Vaishali had a role in her husband's murder.

"There was a heated argument between Dayakar and Vaishali on the night of March 7. In her statement, Vaishali said that after the fight, she didn't talk to her parents, but her mobile phone details show that she was continuously talking and sending messages to her parents that night," said Indirapuram station house officer Virendra Yadav.

"Police also found a blood-stained hammer at the spot, which suggests that Vaishali used it to kill Dayakar. He was attacked when he was sleeping," he said.

After arresting her, police have sent her to Dasna Jail, Yadav added.
