Chaos erupted in the court campus at Ambala city today when a woman allegedly slapped a lady constable who was on security duty there, police said.
The incident took place today when Rachna Gupta, a resident of Ambala Cantt, had come to the court complex to appear in a case, police said.
When she was walking in the corridor, constable Simran who was on duty there asked her to get her purse checked. There was an exchange of words between the two over it and Rachna allegedly slapped the constable.

SHO City police station Rajneesh Yadav also rushed there. A case was registered against the woman on the spot before she was taken to police station.
On the complaint of the constable, police registered a case against the woman under section 332 (causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging duty) and 353 of IPC (assault or use criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of duty).
She was arrested and produced in the local court which sent her to judicial custody.
Yadav said the medical examination of the constable was conducted in the civil hospital as she sustained minor injury on her ear.
Earlier, Rachna while refuting the allegation of lady constable said she pulled her scarf and hair and rudely asked her to get her purse checked.
She said she had not slapped the lady constable and added that she had been coming to the court for last several years to appear in a case.
