Police arrested a woman for allegedly smuggling narcotics and recovered 300 gram heroin from her near Rajghat here.
Shehnaz (25), hailing from Badarpur, was apprehended by the Crime Branch based on a tip off that she was coming to Ring Road in Rajghat area to deliver a consignment of drugs to a contact.
Three hundred grams of heroin, worth Rs 30 lakh, was recovered from her possession. A case under appropriate sections of the law was registered at Crime Branch Police Station, ACP (Crime) Ashok Chand said.
During interrogation, Shehnaz revealed that in 2013, she had been arrested by Central District for possessing drugs. Soon after coming out of jail she again started drug trafficking, police said.
