A 35-year-old woman was arrested and jewellery worth Rs 50 lakh and cash recovered from her possession, police said today.
Kankudi Saansi, resident of Chabra area, was arrested yesterday and valuables worth Rs 50 lakh stolen at a family function in February were recovered, Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav, SP Bundi said.
According to the complaint filed by one Bhalbhadra Singh Rajput, a bag and purse of his relative containing precious jewellery and cash worth over Rs 50,000 was stolen on February 9 during a family function, the SP said.
The accused and her gang could not sell the stolen jewellery because of the jewellers' strike at Sarafa Bazar, Yadav said.
The gang used to stay in hospital premises or work as daily wage labourers under catering and tent contractors to commit thefts in functions, he added.
