A woman was arrested today in connection with a job scam involving appointment of polytechnic lecturers by Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
Police arrested Chempati Sandhya, a self-styled entrepreneur, who was on the run after a sting operation was conducted and telecast by a local Telugu news channel on June 5.
Following a complaint by APPSC about the alleged role of the woman, who sought bribe to ensure lecturers' jobs in government Polytechnic colleges, the Detective Department in the Central Crime Station (CCS) had booked a case against her and took up investigations.

On the strength of evidence collected during investigation, Sandhya was arrested from a remote village in Medak district where she was in hiding, a senior police officer said.
She was produced before a local court and a requisition has been filed for police custody of the accused for detailed interrogation, the officer added.
