A 30-year-old woman was attacked by four unidentified persons, who allegedly attempted to gangrape her in Sadpur village of the district, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday when the woman was out from her house, from where they picked her up and took her to a vacant house and attempted to gangrape her, they said.
The victim was later found in an unconscious state as they hit her with an iron rod.
On hearing her cry, locals came to her rescue and she was rushed to a nearby hospital, they said.
A case has been registered against the four accused police said, adding investigations are on.
