A 38-year-old woman from Naupada locality tried to end her life after she attempted the murder of her two minor children, police said today.
According to police, the incident took place last evening when housewife Shalaka Paranjpe slit the veins of her six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter and attempted suicide.
However, the trio were saved as her husband arrived home early and them rushed to a private hospital here, where they are undergoing treatment.
Paranjpe has been charged under section 307 of the IPC (Attempt to murder), police said.
However, the cause for taking the extreme step is not yet known and further investigations are on, police added.
