Woman beaten and raped by acquaintance

A married woman was allegedly raped by an acquaintance, police said today.

According to the complaint filed by the victim, a resident of SGM Nagar, the incident took place yesterday when she was passing through Sector 21 here and was stopped by her acquittance, Dharmendra, son of Gyan Chand, said Investigating Officer ASI Rajbala.

The accused, accompanied by his accomplices Dharmendra and Sanjay, thrashed the woman and later he took her to Raja Chowk and raped her, police said.

He also threatened her of dire circumstances if she revealed the incident to anyone but gathering courage she later filed a complaint yesterday at police station NIT Faridabad, police said.
 

A case has been filed under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC.

More provisions were added to the complaint attracting section 3, 33 and 89 of SC/ST Act, they added.
