A 25-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband and mother-in-law at Fatehgarh Churian in the district.
Paramjit Kaur, a resident of Adrash Nagar in Amritsar, had lodged a police complaint that her daughter Neetu was beaten to death by her husband, Bikramjit Singh (29) and mother-in-law, Raghubir Kuar yesterday, police said.
Based on her complaint, a case was registered against against Bikramjit and Raghubir, residents of Fatehgarh Churian town, under section 302 and 120 B of IPC, they said.
While the victim's husband has been arrested, her mother-in-law, Raghubir Kaur, was still absconding, police added.
