Woman bludgeoned to death by ex-husband

A 35-year-old woman was brutally murdered in Timmapur village outskirts here by her ex-husband and his new wife after the victim allegedly began creating trouble in their marital life, police said today.

The incident took place under Yellareddypet police limits, nearly 70 kms from here last night, they said.

According to R Rangayya Goud, Circle Inspector of Sircilla, accused Gugulothu Ramesh (40) divorced his wife Gugulothu Kalavathi about five years back.

Later he married Anitha (32) and was living separately. Subsequently, the couple was blessed with son following which Kalavathi allegedly started creating a rift between them.

Vexed with her constant interference, Ramesh and Anitha hatched a plan to kill Kalavathi and asker her to come to a nearby forest in the village outskirts yesterday for some work.
 

When Kalavathi reached there, the duo bludgeoned her to death using a heavy stone following which she died on the spot.

Soon after, they fled from the murder scene but he villagers spotted Kalavathi's body and informed the police.

The couple has been arrested and a case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against them.

The woman's body has been shifted to Sircilla Government Hospital for autopsy, CI added.
