Woman booked for assaulting minor son

A woman here was booked for allegedly attacking her seven-year-old son with a knife, leaving him seriously injured police said today.

The woman, Reshma was booked by Bhiwandi police under sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC following a complaint by the victim but no arrest has been made so far in this connection, they said.

According to police, the boy's father Akash Kumbhar is a painter and married Reshma from Calcutta.

The boy said in his complaint that his mother always used to fight with his father as he was unemployed and was at home for last two months.
 

The incident occured on December 29 after the father and son duo returned home after a vacation to Calcutta. The mother again picked up a quarrel over his job and later attacked the boy using a knife and told both of them to leave the house.

The victim was rushed to local hospital where he was treated. After his recovery he approached the police and registered the complaint last night.
