Kurukshetra police have booked a woman for allegedly causing a ruckus at the Republic Day function at Dronacharya stadium here.
Renuka, an advocate and social activist, was taken to a police station and released on bail last evening.
At the function, Renuka had sparked a commotion when she rushed towards the mike to speak when Haryana Governor, Kaptan Singh Solanki had taken his seat after delivering the R-Day address. She then started raising slogans.
Police personnel rushed towards her and escorted her out of the venue.
A police spokesperson said that besides booking Renuka under the relevant section of the IPC, the police have written to the competent authorities for the cancellation of her license to practice in the judicial courts.
