Woman booked for husband's suicide

An offence has been registered against a woman for allegedly driving her husband to commit suicide in the district, police said today.

The couple, residents of Bandan village in Deherje locality of Thane's Vikramgadh taluka, had frequent quarrels over several issues and the husband, Sanjay Ananta Fadwale (40), also doubted his wife's character, Vikramgadh police station inspector Sunil D Nandwalkar said.

An inebriated Fadwale allegedly committed suicide yesterday by hanging himself to a ceiling fan at his house when he was alone, he said.

Later, the deceased's sister complained to police that her brother ended his life as he doubted the character of his wife and was fed up with her.
 

Subsequently, police registered an offence under section 306 (abetment of suicide) against the deceased's wife, Nandwalkar said, adding that the woman (identity not revealed rpt identity not revealed) was yet to be arrested.
