: Madras High Court has taken a serious view of violation of building rules in the union territory of Puducherry and directed the woman building owner in Yanam to raze the structure before March 13.
Rejecting her plea, the First Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Sathish K Agnihothri and Justice K K Sasidharan said "this case is a classic example as to how buildings are constructed in the Union terrirory of Pondycherry."
The bench further observed that buildings in the Union territory are constructed either without proper planning permission or inviolation of Planning permit.

The owner had filed the petition after Yanam Municipality issued stop work and demolition notice. She laid foundation on Aug 2,2010 and then prefered application for building permit on Aug 17 of that year to Yanam Planning Authority.
Rejecting her plea, the bench said that if the building owner failed to raze the building on her own before Mar 13 the Yanam Planning Authority could impliment its order and dismissed the petition.
