Woman burnt alive in Champhai

A 38-year-old woman was burnt

alive when an Assam-type building occupied by four families was gutted in Mizoram-Myanmar border Champhai town last night, Police said.

Police said that the fire started at around 9:30 PM while most of the occupants of the house were already asleep.

Except for one television set which was thrown out, the whole building was completely gutted.

The deceased Lalneihsangi's funeral would be held at 11 AM today, Police said, adding that the source of the fire was being investigated.
