Woman burnt to death by in-laws over dowry: Police

A 35-year-old woman has allegedly been burnt to death by her in-laws here, according to a police complaint lodged by her uncle.

Nazis was killed at the Talravillage, under the Jansath police station, here yesterday.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim's uncle, Tahir, Circle Officer S K S Pratap said Nazis was harassed by her in-laws for dowry.

Tahir claimed that the accused have been demanding for a car and they set her on fire as the demand was not met.

Pratap said Nazis suffered severe burn injuries and died on the way to a hospital.

Police have registered a case against her husband Gufran, father-in-law Faizan Ahmad and four others. All the accused are at large.
