Shivshankar Yadav was taking the corpse of his wife Rita Devi (30) for cremation last night when the local people got to know about the circumstances and informed the police which arrived there and took away the body, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Nitash Gudia said.
Search was on for the two boys, she said.
The accused and his associates managed to escape by abandoning the body in the melee, Gudia said.
The victim's brother Harishchandra Yadav has lodged an FIR charging his brother in-law and six others with burning his sister and her two sons to death two days ago, she said.
All the accused were absconding, she said.
