A 40-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after killing her three children, the youngest of them a three-month-old girl, in Rajasthan's Dausa district on Tuesday, police said.
Kali Meena strangulated the infant after poisoning her son Bittu (4) and elder daughter Nikita (6), Station House Officer, Ramgarh Pachwara, Ashok Jhajharia, said.
She hanged herself to death at her house in Lahadi ka Was village in the district, police said.
It is suspected that Meena took the extreme step over a domestic dispute. Her husband works as a labourer in Chennai, Jhajharia said.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem and a case has been registered under the Code of Criminal Procedure's section 174, he said.
The section allows a police officer to conduct inquests in a death raising reasonable suspicion, like in cases of suicide.
