A 30-year-old woman set herself and her four-month-old baby on fire in Agaryala village in the district, police said today.
Sonam committed suicide along with her baby who was on her lap, police said, adding, the incident took place on Saturday.
The victim was a resident of Gangai Chandos village in Aligarh district. She got married to one Mahavir of Agaryala village two years back after taking divorce from her first husband, police said.
According to her father, Sonam was mentally disturbed ever since she had given divorce to her first husband and she was undergoing a treatment from an Agra-based doctor, police said.
"No complaint has been received from her parents so far.It is stated that she was mentally disturbed," Dy SP Atul Kumar Srivastava said.
