A 28-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of her in-laws house, police said today.
The deceased, Anushka, wife of Deepak committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house at Biralsi village under Charthawal police station in the district yesterday, police said today.
Police said the body of the victim was found hanging from the ceiling and is still investigating the reason behind the suicide.
The extreme step was taken by the woman while her husband was working in Saudi Arabia, police said.
In a separate incident, a 35-year-old woman was allegedly set on fire by her husband, police said today.
Victim Pervesh, wife of Manish Kumar, died in Bur Ning at Sakhawatpur village under Budhana police station in the district yesterday, police said.
She was rushed to hospital with burn injuries, where she died during treatment.
The father of the victim, Omperkash, has lodged a complaint against her husband Manish for killing his daughter. He has alleged that Pervesh was strangulated to death and was later set ablaze, police said.
No arrest has been made so far, they added.
