Woman cop seeks DIG's dismissal over harassment charge

A committee which was formed to look into the allegation of sexual harassment at work place against DIG of Police Training School in Meerut has found the charges of woman sub-inspector to be true.

DIG Devi Prasad Srivastava has been indicted by the four member internal committee.

Meanwhile, the woman officer said that the committee has submitted its report to the government and the DIG should be dismissed immediately.

"The officer has no right to remain in the office," the SI said.

The members of the committee include Nitayananda Rai, Additional DSP Lucknow headquarters, Shalini Mathur, member NGO 'Suraksha', Mithilesh Verma government employee and Sutapa Sanyal, Additional Director General of Police.
 

UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav had suspended the DIG after allegation surfaced. However, later, the suspension was revoked.
