A woman and her two-year-old daughter were allegedly shot dead over a land dispute in Buxar district of Bihar today, police said.
Meena Devi (32) and Dita Kumari (2) were shot dead by armed persons at their house early today.
Meena's husband Manoj Singh was not at the house when the incident took place at Babuganj English village under Sikraul police station in the district, Buxar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) R K Gupta said.
He said prima facie the shooting appeared to be a fallout of long-running land dispute between Manoj and a neighbour.
An FIR has been lodged by Manoj in which he has named three persons - Umashankar, Kunti Devi and Saroj Singh - in connection with the crime, the SDPO added.
