A 35-year-old woman died, while her family had a narrow escape after the scooter on which they were riding was allegedly hit by a speeding truck in northwest Delhi, police said on Sunday.
Arjesh Kumar, his wife and two children were returning home on a scooter when it was hit by the truck on Gurudwara road at Bhalswa Dairy on Saturday afternoon, the police said.
Kumar and his children had a narrow escape but his wife, Rangeela Devi, lost her life, an officer said.
The truck driver, Anujpal, 25, has been arrested. A case has been registered against the driver under Section 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code, the official added.
