Two doctors have been booked for negligence in connection with the death of a 25-year-old woman who died at a sterilisation camp organised by the Haryana health department on November 25, police said today.

A case was registered following a complaint by Sukhbir Singh, husband of the victim Rajbala, a resident of Mohana village, in this connection, a police spokesperson said.

Rajbala had gone to the sterilisation camp in the village accompanied by her mother where she died. Family members alleged negligence of doctors, police said.

A case under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of IPC has been registered against Dr Prahari and Dr Mehra who had operated on the victim, they said.

At least 13 women lost their lives while several others were left critically ill due to botched surgeries at tubectomy camps earlier this month in Chhattisgarh.
