Woman dies in scuffle over passage of sewage water

A woman died following a scuffle over a minor dispute in Sikri village here, police said today.

According to Additional SP (Rural) Jagdish Sharma, a dispute had been going on in the village for the last few days over passage of sewage water. Last evening, there was a heated exchange between two groups of women over the issue.

Premvati, wife of Prakash, fell on the ground and sustained injuries during a scuffle. Premvati, who was suffering from a lung ailment, died as she was being taken to the district hospital, said Sharma.

Relatives of the deceased have filed a police complaint against four women. Police have launched an investigation. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
 

Police personnel have been deployed in the village.
