Woman doctor arrested for taking bribe

The accused, Manju Khanna, had allegedly demanded Rs 1,500 as bribe from one Kamlesh Somani for conducting a caesarean operation of his pregnant wife, who was admitted at Mahatma Gandhi government hospital here.

When Kamlesh expressed his inability to give the amount, Manju allegedly refused to perform the operation and finally agreed to take Rs 800, ACB officials said.

After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and she was arrested, they added.
