A woman drug trafficker was arrested here and one kg of heroin worth Rs one crore was seized from her possession, police said today.
The woman drug trafficker, Chander Kala (60), was caught by a Crime Branch team under Wazirabad flyover on the Ring Road, last week. One Kg of heroin which was brought from Bareilly for supplying to one Javed, was seized from her possession, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner(crime branch).
Chander Kala belonged to Delhi. Her younger son is a drug addict who used to take heroin from other drug peddlers. Due to bad habits of her son, she came in contact with his son's friends, he said.
Also, she once visited Bareilly to bring heroin for use of her son in small quantity from an unknown person. She met a man, named Khan, through his son's friend Mohit, who lured her into heroin smuggling for money, said the officer.
A case was registered under Section 21 of NDPS Act at Crime Branch police station, and she was arrested. Further investigation of the case is in progress, added the officer.
