Woman duped of Rs 14,000 in Kurukshetra

A woman was duped of nearly Rs 14,000 by a man who withdrew the sum from her bank account by posing on phone as a bank representative.

The victim, identified as Sonia, lodged a complaint with police today saying that she received a call on her mobile phone from an unknown person.

He introduced himself as an official of the bank and took details of her ATM card, including its password, from her.

Later, she got an SMS from her bank about withdrawal of Rs 13,985 from her account.

Police said the investigation is underway.
