Woman electrocuted to death in Punjab

A 45-year-old woman was allegedly electrocuted to death while she was cutting chaff from the fields at Granthgarh village near here today, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Nirmal Kaur. Her husband, Sawinder Singh, a resident of Granthgarh village, lodged a complaint with police Nirmal had gone to fields to cut the chaff for animals.

However, when she touched a live cable lying in the fields, she died on the spot, police said.

A case has been registered in this connection.
